On The Boardwalk

I love boardwalks.

My first experience on a boardwalk was on Douglas Island across the Gastineau Channel from Juneau Alaska. I was 6 years old when my parents took my brother and I on a walk along a trail that was partly built of wood. Along this trail I encountered my first smell of Skunk Cabbage, a smell that to this day takes me right back to that magical boardwalk.

Today my sweetie & I tried to kayak from the boat launch out onto Tennant Lake but we were turned back by the ginormous water lillies. Loading the yaks back onto the car we walked the trail out onto the boardwalk instead.
